The Ugly
Sorry. A family emergency prevented me from posting the final installment this morning.
Here it is, in all it's glory:
"The positions pay $15 for 650-word articles. Watch experts will be paid $20 per article after training."
Whoo-hoo! A whole $15 per article and $20 per article if I'm an expert in something and have spent time in a non-paid training program.
You know it folks, I'm asking, "Where do I sign up!?"

i wish i could remember where i found the one i saw the other day. it said that they'd pay a piddly amount for the first articles you did, but once you became a regular writer for them, the editor hoped you'd take less money for the sake of the publication. first i've ever heard of taking less for being established with a publication.
$15 is bad, but I see offers that are far worse, and on a regular basis too. $5 seems to be a pretty popular price, but I've even seen the occasional ad that's "willing to pay" $2, or even $1, per article. As long as writers continue to take these buyers up on their offers, the problem will continue.
